The Mathematics Section was established in the year 1980 along with the inception of the college. Right from its inception the Mathematics section has striven to set high standards of teaching. The Department successfully keeps up with the high-end requirements of Industry and focuses on the professional development of the students.
The Mathematics section is a supporting Department to all Engineering Branches. The objective of the Department is to make engineering students as professionals who can command engineering fundamentals including experimental, analytical, computational, and design capabilities. The Department encourages and promotes use of advanced Mathematical, Computational and Informatics techniques to solve the various industrial and environmental problems for the benefits of the society.
The goal is to prepare the students for their holistic development by offering them in-depth counseling and guidance regarding issues related to their studies and careers. This Department motivates students to learn and excel, generate interest in the subject and open to new experiences which are crucial for engineers.
The Department has at present 6 energetic and dedicated faculty members of which 4 are doctorates and rest are pursuing their Ph.D. In addition to these regular faculty, a good number of distinguished mathematicians visiting MJCET every year. The Department has also been actively engaged in organizing Conferences/Workshops/FDPs, National Science Day, Guest lectures and Quiz. Also the Department encourages the faculty to participate in various Seminars, Workshops & FDPs.
As a result of the sincere effort of the team, the Department has been consistently obtaining excellent results with many students scoring 100% marks in university examination.
Dr. Md. Abdul Rawoof Sayeed is Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the Mathematics Section in the Basic Sciences & Humanities Department at MJCET. He joined as assistant professor in the department of mathematics at MJCET in the year 2018.He has 25 years of teaching experience. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. in the field of "mean flow effect and heat transfer visualization in nonlinear dynamical convective models." He has 7 research papers published in Scopus/Web of Science indexing journals. He worked as in-charge of examination from 2012 to 2014.
